Four Oaks Camping

Norfolk

Nearly wild, loads of space – simple with just the essentials

Head out and breathe in East Anglia

Located within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the adjoining boarder of two secluded meadows – the area is peaceful and remote, with easy access to village amenities (shops, pubs, takeaways) and local walking and cycling routes.

All pitches are generous and back onto established hedgerows

King’s Lynn is a few miles to the south. Castle Rising Castle, Sandringham Estate and Snettisham RSPB Reserve are a few miles to the east and north.

Our direction:

A nature-rich and spacious, back-to-basics campsite, where environmentally conscious recreation meets the great outdoors, and sustainable facilities and energy systems ensure a peaceful escape with minimal impact on the natural surroundings.

“Absolutely fabulous! Simple “back to basics” spacious campsite but done really well…”

Ruth S. (pitchup.com)

“It was fantastic to see how much effort had been put into making the site as green and ecological as possible. Highly recommended”

Local selection

King’s Lynn

The Hanseatic town of King’s Lynn was one of England’s most important ports from as early as the 12th century, and this maritime past is still very much in evidence today. Fine old merchants’ houses stretch down to the river between cobbled lanes and the elegant Custom House overlooks the harbour.

Sandringham Estate

Sandringham was the much-loved country retreat of Queen Elizabeth II and has been the private home of four generations of British Monarchs since 1862. The Royal Park is open daily with waymarked nature trails through a myriad of woodland paths. Inspiring children’s play area, superb facilities and dog friendly.

Castle Rising Castle

One of the largest, best preserved and most lavishly decorated keeps in England, surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks. Steeped in history since building began in 1138 – most famously as the 14th-century luxurious residence of Queen Isabella, widow (and alleged murderess) of Edward II.

Walk-Bike-Run

The signposted Elizabeth Way walking route, National Cycle Network (Route 1) and the long-distance cycling route for Norfolk (Rebellion Way) connects the village and Four Oaks Camping to King’s Lynn, Sandringham and Castle Rising with traffic-light access, using a disused railway, parks and quiet country lanes. The village is also on the medieval pilgrims’ 29-mile King’s Lynn Walsingham Way trail – part of an ancient route of contemplation across Norfolk via Norwich to Great Yarmouth.

Time outside is the only way to resynchronise – the sunrise, the sunset, and let the well-deserved rest unfold.

The Rail Connection

In days gone by the railway carried passengers passed the meadows of Four Oaks Camping, through the royal family’s private Estate of Sandringham, and on to the seaside town of Hunstanton. The steel tracks from King’s Lynn to the seashore have long since been dismantled, but the stretch of green corridor largely remains.
Visitors to Norfolk can still travel by rail to King’s Lynn. From there, outside the station, a signposted greenway follows much of the original rail route, and offers easy walking or cycling directly from the railway terminal to North Wootton village and Four Oaks Camping (~4 miles).
